Nishibe, Sansei,Fujimoto, Toru,Nose, Mitsuhiko,Takeda, Tadahiro,Ogihara, Yukio,Xu, Guojun
, p. 1579 - 1582 (1993)
A new lignan, traxillaside and nine known lignans, artigenin, traxillagenin, trachelogenin, matairesinol, nortrachelogenin, arctiin, tracheloside, matairesinoside and nortracheloside, were isolated from the bark of Trachelospermum axillare. The structure of traxillaside was deduced from chemical and spectral evidence to be 2-4''-hydroxy-3''-methoxybenzyl-3-3',4',5'-trimethoxybenzylbutyrolactone-4''-O-β-D-glucopyranoside. Key Word Index: Trachelospermum axillare; Apocynaceae; bark; lignans; traxillagenin; traxillaside, 2-4''-hydroxy-3''-methoxybenzyl-3-3',4',5'-trimethoxybenzylbutyrolactone-4''-O-β-D-glucopyranoside.
A SIMPLE PREPARATION OF (R)-(+)-β-(3,4,5-TRIMETHOXYBENZYL)-BUTANOLIDE, AND ITS USE IN THE TOTAL SYNTHESES OF NATURALLY OCCURRING DIBENZYLBUTANOLIDE LIGNANS
Lalami, Khalid,Dhal, Robert,Brown, Eric
, p. 1131 - 1134 (2007/10/02)
Resolution of methyl α-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl)hemisuccinate by means of (-)-ephedrine, followed by calcium borohydride reduction, afforded (R)-(+)-β-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl)butanolide.This lactone was used as a starting material for the optically active
