The chemical compound "(3R,5S,8R,9S,10S,13S,14S)-17-[(E)-2-(4-Hydroxy-phenyl)-ethylimino]-10,13-dimethyl-hexadecahydro-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-ol" is a complex organic molecule with a unique structure. It features a cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-ol core, which is a type of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon with a five-membered ring fused to a phenanthrene. The compound is characterized by its chiral centers at several carbon atoms, indicated by the R and S configurations, which determine the three-dimensional arrangement of the molecule. The presence of a 4-hydroxy-phenyl group attached to an ethylimino group suggests the potential for hydrogen bonding and significant interactions with other molecules. Additionally, the molecule contains two methyl groups at positions 10 and 13, which contribute to its steric properties. (3R,5S,8R,9S,10S,13S,14S)-17-[(E)-2-(4-Hydroxy-phenyl)-ethylimino]-10,13-dimethyl-hexadecahydro-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-ol is likely to have specific biological activities or applications in fields such as pharmaceuticals or materials science, given its intricate structure and functional groups.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 79316-11-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,9,3,1 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 79316-11:
(7*7)+(6*9)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*6)+(2*1)+(1*1)=143
143 % 10 = 3
So 79316-11-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

SYNTHESIS AND CIRCULAR DICHROISM STUDIES OF STEROIDAL SCHIFF BASES OF BIOGENIC AMINES

Price, Howard C.,Sawutz, David G.,Wagner, Thomas E.,Shewmaker, Chris

, p. 1679 - 1684 (2007/10/02)

A number of imines (Schiff bases) have been prepared from ketosteroids (estrone, estrone-3-methyl ether, andosterone, epiandrosterone, 5α-cholestan-3-one, 6-ketocholestanol and testosterone) and primary amines (phenethylamine, tyramine and hexanamine). The CD spectra of these compounds have been measured in methanol.Except for the testosterone imines, the azomethine n-?* band (ca. 235nm) exhibited the same sign (but not as high an ellipticity) as the parent ketone's n-?* band (ca. 295nm).The imines of the estrogens (estrone and estrone 3-methyl ester) gave CD spectra characterized by a negative 1Lb Cotton effect (=-1000) near 280nm and a band near 230nm (=+19,000) which is considered the sum of a positive azomethine n-?* Cotton effect and positive aromatic 1La Cotton effect(s).The 1La band originating in the amine moiety was prominent in the CD of 5α-cholestan-3-one and 6-ketocholestanol phenethylamine imines. When aromatic Cotton effects originating in the amine moiety were detected, they were of the same sign as the n-?* Cotton effect.
