A new labdane derivative, 7α-acetoxy-trans-communic acid was isolated from Chromolaena collina.Extraction of Stomatanthes corumbensis yielded a new p-hydroxyacetophenone derivative which was identified as 4-methoxy-3--acetophenone.Key Word Index- Chromolaena collina; Stomatanthes corumbensis; Compositae; Eupatorieae; labdane derivative; p-hydroxyacetophenone derivative.

From the weakly acid fraction of the hexane extract from Artemisia campestris subsp. glutinosa, five new aromatics have been isolated.They have been identified as o-hydroxyphenylbutan-2-one, 3-acetyl-4-hydroxyacetophenone, 3-(isopent-2-enyl)-4-hydroxyacetophenone, 3--4-hydroxyacetophenone, 3--5-(isopent-2-enyl)-4-hydroxyacetophenone and 3--5--4-hydroxyacetophenone.The structures have been assigned by spectral data and chemical transformations.Key Word Index - Artemisia campestris; Compositae; aromatics; (1)H NMR; stereochemistry.
