Z-Arg(Pme)-OH*CHA is a synthetic peptide compound, where "Z" represents the carbobenzoxy (Cbz) protecting group, "Arg(Pme)" denotes the Nα-protected arginine with a p-methoxybenzyl (Pme) group, and "OH*CHA" signifies the presence of a hydroxyl group and a cyclohexylalanine (Cha) residue. Z-Arg(Pme)-OH*CHA is commonly used in peptide synthesis as a building block, particularly in the construction of larger peptide sequences. The Cbz group is a temporary protecting group that shields the amino group of arginine during the synthesis process, preventing unwanted side reactions. The Pme group on the guanidinium group of arginine further stabilizes the peptide structure. The hydroxyl group and Cha residue contribute to the overall structure and properties of the peptide, influencing its solubility, stability, and potential biological activity. Overall, Z-Arg(Pme)-OH*CHA is a versatile component in the field of peptide chemistry, offering a protected and functionalized building block for the development of various bioactive peptides and pharmaceuticals.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 79590-32-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,9,5,9 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 79590-32:
(7*7)+(6*9)+(5*5)+(4*9)+(3*0)+(2*3)+(1*2)=172
172 % 10 = 2
So 79590-32-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Further Studies on the Use of Multi-substituted Benzenesulfonyl Groups for Protection of the Guanidino Function of Arginine

Fujino, Masahiko,Wakimasu, Mitsuhiro,Kitada, Chieko

, p. 2825 - 2831 (2007/10/02)

Various multi-substituted benzenesulfonyl protecting groups for the guanidino function of arginine, removable under mild conditions such as with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)-thioanisole, were studied.Among them, the 4-methoxy-2,6-dimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mds) group, the 2,3,4,5,6-pentamethylbenzenesulfonyl (Pme) group, and the 4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mtr) group were found to be useful. Both Mds and Pme show considerable resistance to TFA and, therefore, are suitable for procedures in which the intermediates are deprotected by TFA treatment, while Mtr is the most useful protecting group when TFA treatment is not necessary.Keywords---4-methoxy-2,6-dimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mds); 2,4,6-trimethoxybenzenesulfonyl (Mtb); 2,3,4,5,6-pentamethylbenzenesulfonyl (Pme); 4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mtr); trifluoroacetic acid-thioanisole deprotection
