SYNTHESIS OF 5-ARYL-5,6,7,8-TETRAHYDROTHIAZOLOPYRIDINIUM BROMIDES

5,6,7,8-Tetrahydro-5-phenylthiazolopyridinium bromide (1a) and 5-(p-chlorophenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrothiazolopyridinium bromide (1b) have been synthesized with 4-(3-carboethoxypropyl)-thiazole (3) and/or 4-(4-phenyl-3-butenyl)thoazole (9a) or 4-thiazole (9b) as an intermediate.
