Tannins and related polyphenols of melastomataceous plants. VII. Nobotanins J and K, trimeric and tetrameric hydrolyzable tannins from Heterocentron roseum
Yoshida,Haba,Arata,Nakata,Shingu,Okuda
, p. 1101 - 1106 (2007/10/02)
Two new hydrolyzable tannins, nobotanins J and K, were isolated by a combination of column chromatography and centrifugal partition chromatography from the leaf extract of Heterocentron roseum, and shown to have trimeric and tetrameric structures composed of combinations of the common monomeric units, casuarictin and pterocarinin C, on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence.
Tannins of theaceous plants. V. Camelliatannins F, G and H, three new tannins from Camellia japonica L.
Han,Hatano,Yoshida,Okuda
, p. 1399 - 1409 (2007/10/02)
Two new complex tannins, camelliatannins F (3) and G (4), were isolated from the leaves of Camellia japonica L. (Theaceae), and their structures, each consisting of an epicatechin unit and a C-glucosidic ellagitannin moiety, were elucidated. A new dimeric hydrolyzable tannin, named camelliatannin H (5), was isolated from the fruits of this plant. Camelliins A (6) and B (7), and camelliatannin A (1) and 3 were also isolated from the fruits.
Tannin and Related Compounds. Part 26. Isolation and Structures of Stenophyllanins A, B, and C, Novel Tannins from Quercus stanophylla
Nonaka, Gen-ichiro,Nishimura, Hiroaki,Nishioka, Itsuo
, p. 163 - 172 (2007/10/02)
Together with four known ellagitannins ( casuarinin, casuariin, castalagin, and castalin) containing the core of an open-chain form of D-glucose, three unusual and closely related tannins, stenophyllanins A, B, and C, have been isolated from the bark of Quercus stenophylla.Degradative and synthetic studies, in conjunction with (1)H n.m.r., (13)C n.m.r., and mass spectrometry, have led to the unequivocal assignments of the structures in which an ellagitannin (casuarinin or casuariin) moiety is attached through a carbon-carbon linkage to the A-ring (C-8 or C-6) of a flavan-3-ol unit.
Tannins of Casuarina and Stachyurus Species. Part 1. Structures of Pendunculagin, Casuarictin, Strictinin, Casuarinin, Casuariin, and Stachyurin
Okuda, Takuo,Yoshida, Takashi,Ashida, Mariko,Yazaki, Kazufumi
, p. 1765 - 1772 (2007/10/02)
Three novel C-glucosidic ellagitannins, casuarinin, casauriin, and stachyurin, and two additional new ellagitannins, casuarictin and strictinin, were isolated from the leaves of Casuarina stricta, and their structures elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence.Pedunculagin and tellimagrandin I were also isolated, and the structure having (S)-4,4',5,5',6,6'-hexahydroxydiphenoyl groups was established for pedunculagin. These seven ellagitannins isolated from C. stricta have been found also in Stachyurus praecox.
