Uses
aluminum acetate solution (Burow’s solution) has astringent and antiseptic properties, and is used in astringent lotions and protective creams. This is a mixture of alkali metal acetate, acetic acid, and dibasic aluminum acetate with boric acid as a formulation stabilizer. Some cosmetic companies try to avoid using this ingredient because of its metal content and the benefits of metalbased products on the skin are questioned by some manufacturers.
