Oils, linaloe, also known as Mexican linaloe, is a colorless to yellow liquid derived from the wood of a branched tree or shrub that grows wild or is sometimes cultivated in tropical and subtropical areas. The oil is partially a pathological product of the plant, as its formation is stimulated by repeated incisions made on the trunk at periodic intervals. Linaloe has an agreeable, flowery, rose-like odor and is composed of main constituents such as linalool (60 to 75%), geraniol, nerol, methylheptenol, methyl heptenone, myrcene, and various sesquiterpenes.
