The transmetallation reaction between the PtCl62- ion and aryl derivatives of non-transition metals (Hg, Sn, Pb or B) affords the anionic ?-aryl complexes previously prepared by the reaction of PtCl62- with arenes. When treated with olefins, the complexes give arylated olefins.Heating a solution of the complex - with an other arene (Ar'H) leads to the formation of the complex - (transarylation reaction).
