It consists almost entirely of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, and its main component
(>60%) is α-gurjunene. Other qualities of gurjun balsam oil containing calarene and α-copaene as main constituents
are also found on the market.
Gurjun balsam oil and gurjun balsams are used for their good fixative properties,
for example, in soap perfumes, and also serve as starting materials for the
production of guaiazulene, C15H18.
Occurrence

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 8030-55-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 8,0,3 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 8030-55:
(6*8)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*5)=75
75 % 10 = 5
So 8030-55-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
