The syntheses and spectroscopic characterization of the vinylidene complexes [Fe(η-C5H5|(CO)(L)[C=CH2) +BP4-[L = PPh3, R= Me, H; L = PMe2Ph, P(C6H11)3, R = H], from the acyl precursors [Fe-(ηC5H5)(CO)(L)[C(O)CHR2]] and trifluoromethane:sulfonic anhydride in thi presence of HBF4-Et2O, are described.
