Z-Arg(Mtb)-OH, also known as Z-Arginine(Mtb) hydrochloride, is a synthetic chemical compound derived from the naturally occurring amino acid, L-arginine. The compound is characterized by the presence of a methylthio group (Mtb) attached to the guanidinium group of the arginine molecule, which imparts unique properties to the compound. Z-Arg(Mtb)-OH is often used in peptide synthesis as a building block, particularly in the development of pharmaceuticals and bioactive peptides. The Z-group (benzyloxycarbonyl) is a protecting group that shields the amino group during peptide synthesis, preventing unwanted side reactions and ensuring the correct sequence of amino acids in the final peptide product. Once the peptide is synthesized, the Z-group can be removed to reveal the free amino group, allowing for further reactions or the formation of the final peptide. Z-Arg(Mtb)-OH is a valuable tool in the field of medicinal chemistry and biotechnology due to its role in the controlled synthesis of complex peptide structures.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 80745-06-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,0,7,4 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 80745-06:
(7*8)+(6*0)+(5*7)+(4*4)+(3*5)+(2*0)+(1*6)=128
128 % 10 = 8
So 80745-06-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Further Studies on the Use of Multi-substituted Benzenesulfonyl Groups for Protection of the Guanidino Function of Arginine

Fujino, Masahiko,Wakimasu, Mitsuhiro,Kitada, Chieko

, p. 2825 - 2831 (2007/10/02)

Various multi-substituted benzenesulfonyl protecting groups for the guanidino function of arginine, removable under mild conditions such as with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)-thioanisole, were studied.Among them, the 4-methoxy-2,6-dimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mds) group, the 2,3,4,5,6-pentamethylbenzenesulfonyl (Pme) group, and the 4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mtr) group were found to be useful. Both Mds and Pme show considerable resistance to TFA and, therefore, are suitable for procedures in which the intermediates are deprotected by TFA treatment, while Mtr is the most useful protecting group when TFA treatment is not necessary.Keywords---4-methoxy-2,6-dimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mds); 2,4,6-trimethoxybenzenesulfonyl (Mtb); 2,3,4,5,6-pentamethylbenzenesulfonyl (Pme); 4-methoxy-2,3,6-trimethylbenzenesulfonyl (Mtr); trifluoroacetic acid-thioanisole deprotection
