2-(Acylmethylene)hexahydropyrimidines (7) have been converted into the corresponding benzoyl isothiocyanate adducts (8), treatment of which with sulphuryl chloride gave the 3-chloroisothiazolopyrimidine (10) instead of the expected 3-acyl compound
