Phenylpropanoid glycosides from Lamiophlomis rotata

Two new phenypropanoid glycosides were isolated from the roots of Lamiophlomis rotata, together with a known compound, cistanoside C. On the basis of spectral and chemical evidence, the structures of two new compounds were identified as 6'-β-D-apiofuranosyl cistanoside C and cis- lamiophlomiside A.

A new glycoside, forsythoside B, exhibiting antibacterial activity, has been isolated from Forsythia koreana stems.Chemical and spectroscopic studies have established the structure of forsythoside B as shown in formula I.
