Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 81531-52-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,1,5,3 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 81531-52:
(7*8)+(6*1)+(5*5)+(4*3)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*2)=114
114 % 10 = 4
So 81531-52-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Inter- and intramolecular addition of ester anions to nicotinium salts. A facile approach to nauclefine and ellipticine derivatives
Wanner,Koomen,Pandit
, p. 3673 - 3681 (2007/10/02)
Reaction of ester anions with 1-(2'-indolyl-ethyl)nicotinium chloride and 1-(1'-methyl-2'-indolylethyl)-nicotinium chloride leads to 2,7-naphthyridine-1,3-diones. Acid catalyzed cyclization of the latter yield pentacyclic napthyridocarboline derivatives.
A CONVENIENT SYNTHESIS OF 6-METHYLELLIPTICINE AND 6-METHYLOLIVACINE
Wanner, Martin J.,Koomen, Gerrit-Jan,Pandit, Upendra K.
, p. 2295 - 2300 (2007/10/02)
Readily accessible 11-ketopyridocarbazole derivatives 3a,b have been used as central intermediates for the synthesis of 6-methylellipticine and 6-methylolivacine.
