Tris(methyldiphenylphosphine)bis(monothiobenzoato)ruthenium(II) is a complex organoruthenium compound with the chemical formula [Ru(P(C6H5)2CH3)3(SBz)2]. It is a coordination complex consisting of a ruthenium(II) center coordinated to three methyldiphenylphosphine ligands and two monothiobenzoato ligands. tris(methyldiphenylphosphine)bis(monothiobenzoato)ruthenium(II) is of interest in the field of homogeneous catalysis, particularly in the hydrogenation of alkenes and the transfer hydrogenation of ketones. The unique electronic properties and stability of the ruthenium center, along with the steric and electronic effects of the phosphine and monothiobenzoato ligands, contribute to its catalytic activity and selectivity.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 81704-55-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,1,7,0 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 81704-55:
(7*8)+(6*1)+(5*7)+(4*0)+(3*4)+(2*5)+(1*5)=124
124 % 10 = 4
So 81704-55-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Metal Complexes of Sulphur Ligands. Part 21. Reactions of with Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2 (n=1 or 2) and PMe2Ph and of cis- with Ammonium Monothiobenzoate. Crystal and Molecular Structure of >MeOH

Gould, Robert O.,Stephenson, T. Anthony,Thomson, Mary A.

, p. 2508 - 2514 (2007/10/02)

Whereas reaction of (1) with Ph2PCH2PPh2 (dppm) in ethanol (1:1 molar ratio) gives mer--dppm, the corresponding reaction with Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2 (dppe) gives, after recrystallisation from methanol, the product MeOH.This has been shown by 1H and 31P- n.m.r. spectroscopy to consist of two isomers (3a) and (3b) with bidentate and S-bonded (-)SCOPh groups and the structure of (3b) has been verified by X-ray analysis. The crystals are triclinic, space group P1, with a=10.01(1), b=14.70(1), c=18.52(1) Angstroem, α=75.2(3), β=83.6(3), and γ=73.5(3) deg.Reaction of compound (1) with an excess of PMe2Ph gives an isomeric mixture of mer- whereas shaking cis- in benzene or methanol for short periods with gives the facial isomer. If cis- is shaken with in methanol for several hours, however, the cation (+) can be isolated by addition of Na.
