General Description
4-(2-Methylphenyl) piperidine hydrochloride is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C12H18ClN. It is a white crystalline powder that is commonly used as a pharmaceutical intermediate in the synthesis of various drugs. 4-(2-METHYLPHENYL) PIPERIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE acts as a potent and selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, making it useful in the treatment of mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. Additionally, it can also be utilized in the development of medications for other neurological and psychiatric conditions. However, due to its psychoactive properties, 4-(2-Methylphenyl) piperidine hydrochloride should be handled and used with caution, and its production and distribution may be subject to legal restrictions in some jurisdictions.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 82212-02-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,2,2,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 82212-02:
(7*8)+(6*2)+(5*2)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*0)+(1*2)=90
90 % 10 = 0
So 82212-02-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 2560 - 2564 (2012/05/05)
A series of substituted 4-arylpiperidines and a smaller family of 4-aryl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridines were synthesized and their biological activity at the 5-HT2C receptor studied to determine whether either series showed noteworthy agonist activity. Structure-activity relationships were developed from the performed receptor binding assays and functional studies, and the results of the analysis are presented herein.
