Tris-(ethyl)(m-tolyl)dithiocarbamato(Cl)hafnium(IV) is a complex organometallic compound with the chemical formula [HfCl(C6H4CH3)3NCS2]3. It is a hafnium-based compound, where hafnium is a group 4 transition metal with the atomic number 72. The compound features a central hafnium atom coordinated to three tris-(ethyl)(m-tolyl)dithiocarbamate ligands and one chloride ion. The tris-(ethyl)(m-tolyl)dithiocarbamate ligand consists of a dithiocarbamate group (-NCS2) attached to three ethyl groups and one m-tolyl group (methylbenzene). tris-(ethyl)(m-tolyl)dithiocarbamato(Cl)hafnium(IV) is of interest in the field of organometallic chemistry and catalysis, as it exhibits unique properties and reactivity due to the presence of the hafnium metal center and the chelating dithiocarbamate ligands.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 82428-95-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,2,4,2 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 82428-95:
(7*8)+(6*2)+(5*4)+(4*2)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*5)=143
143 % 10 = 3
So 82428-95-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Hafnium (IV) Dithiocarbamates

Kumar, Shyam,Kaushik, N. K.

, p. 182 - 184 (2007/10/02)

Mono-, bis-, tris- and tetrakis-dithiocarbamatohafnium(IV) complexes of the type Hf(dtc)nCl4-n where n = 1,2,3 or 4; dtc = N-ethyl, N-m-tolyl; N-cyclopentyl and N-cycloheptyl dithiocarbamate ligands have been prepared and characterised on the basis of elemental analyses, molecular weight, conductance, magnetic moment, IR and PMR spectral studies. All the complexes are monomeric, diamagnetic and nonelectrolytic in nature. The dithiocarbamate ligands behave as typical bidentate ligands and hence, in the present complexes, hafnium (IV) can be assigned 5,6,7 and 8 coordination numbers when n = 1,2,3 and 4 respectively.
