(Z)-3-(4-bromophenyl)-3-(3-pyridyl)-2-propenal N-oxide is a complex organic compound characterized by its unique molecular structure. It features a conjugated enal system with a 4-bromophenyl group attached to the 3-position and a 3-pyridyl group at the same position, indicating a potential for significant electronic interactions between these moieties. The N-oxide functional group suggests the presence of an oxygen atom covalently bonded to nitrogen, which can influence the compound's reactivity and stability. This chemical is likely to be of interest in the fields of organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and materials science, where its electronic properties and potential for molecular interactions could be exploited in the design of new drugs, dyes, or other functional materials.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 82589-76-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,2,5,8 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 82589-76:
(7*8)+(6*2)+(5*5)+(4*8)+(3*9)+(2*7)+(1*6)=172
172 % 10 = 2
So 82589-76-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Metabolites of the Pyridylallylamine Zimelidine Syntheses via α,β-Unsaturated Aldehydes with Conservation of Stereochemistry

Hoegberg, Thomas,Lundstroem, Jan

, p. 85 - 90 (2007/10/02)

Some tentative metabolites and metabolic intermediates of (Z)-3-(4-bromophenyl)-N,N-dimethyl-3-(3-pyridyl)allylamine (1, zimelidine) were synthesized. (Z)-3-(4-Bromophenyl)-3-(3-pyridyl)-2-propenal (8) and its N-oxide (15) were used in syntheses of N-methyl-hydroxylamines (17, 18), the pyridyl N-oxide of zimelidine (16) and a nitrone (19).The nitrone was also formed by oxidation of the allylic carbon of the corresponding N-methylhydroxylamine 17 with silver oxide. The compounds were diastereomerically pure and shown to possess the Z-configuration by means of UV and 1H NMR.
