The ω,ω'-biazulenylpolyenes 2 - 12 were selected to study the dependence of their redox properties from the linkage position.This paper describes the syntheses of the mostly unknown systems 2.1 - 9.n via Wittig, Horner-Emmons, and McMurry reactions.UV/VIS and 1H NMR spectra confirm the depicted structures and configurations.
