, p. 471 - 472 (1981)
A facile one-step synthesis of monoaza crown ethers by treatment of dialkanolamines with oligoethylene glycol di(toluene-p-sulphonates) or dichlorides in ButOM-ButOH (M = Na, K) is described.

To great (monodisperse) lengths: An improved synthesis of purer ethylene glycol (EG) oligomers allows access to 16- and 32-mers pure enough for multiple incorporation, and also to the longest (48-mer) discrete EG oligomer yet reported. The high purity enables the first crystallizations and hence the first glimpses of secondary 310-helical PEG structures.
Synthesis of Aminomethyl Crown Ethers

, p. 5167 - 5171 (2007/10/02)
Various N-substituted or unsubstituted aminomethyl crown ethers, which possess a reactive amino group, were prepared in good yields by the reaction between 3-amino-1,2-propanediols or aminomethyl oligoethylene glycols and oligoethylene glycol ditosylates or dichlorides. The scope of the reaction was investigated and the complexing ability of these new crown ether derivatives with sodium and potassium ions in methanol was measured by potentiometric titration.
