Synthesis and Reactions of Some s-Triazole Fused Heterocycles

Acylation and alkylation of 3-mercapto-6,7-diaryl-s-triazolo[4,3-b]-s-triazoles (1a,b) have been achieved. Oxidation of some products with KMnO4 were performed. Some new derived Mannich and Schiff bases have been synthesized. Ring closure reactions of chloromethyl derivatives with hydrazine, phenyl-hydrazine and hydroxylamine afforded the corresponding fused triheterocyclic systems. Annulation with 1,3,4-oxadiazole of s-triazole moieties have been performed by reaction with CS2 as methylisothiocyanate.
