84255-41-4 Usage
General Description
The chemical compound 2,5-dimethyl-1H-imidazole-4-carbodithioic acid, also known as DTIC, is an imidazole derivative with a carbodithioic acid group. It is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical research. DTIC is also a drug used in the treatment of malignant melanoma, a type of skin cancer. It works by interfering with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. Additionally, DTIC has been researched for its potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. However, it is important to note that DTIC can have toxic effects and should be handled with care in a laboratory setting.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 84255-41-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,4,2,5 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 84255-41:
(7*8)+(6*4)+(5*2)+(4*5)+(3*5)+(2*4)+(1*1)=134
134 % 10 = 4
So 84255-41-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
