N,N'-Diorganylhydrazines 1a - e react with chlorophosphane (2) to yield the diazadiphosphahexadienes 3a - e as non isolable intermediates. 3a - e give an intramolecular Diels Alder reaction with participation of two PC double bonds to form the tricyclic compounds 5a - e.The α-C-branched hydrazines 1f - h yield the phosphaalkenes 6f - h via mono-substitution.These surprising results are confirmed by spectroscopy as well as partly by X-ray structure determination. This observation is another evidence for the relationship between the PC double bond and the olefin systems.
