A new two-stage method was developed for the synthesis of 1,5-dinitro derivatives of bicyclononane from 1,3-dinitrobenzene derivatives.The structure and configuration of the hydroxyl center of one of the obtained compounds 1,5-dinitro-2-bromo-6-exo-hydroxybicyclonon-2-ene was proved by x-ray crystallografic analysis.
