Hydrometallation reactions, for example, hydroboration and hydroalumination, on [1-(trifluoromethyl)propargyl]amines lead stereoselectively to the corresponding [(Z)- and (E)-1-(trifluoromethyl)allyl]amines in good yields; (Z)- and (E)-allylamines with a free amino group can be obtained in good yields and excellent enantioselectivities from the chiral propargylamines.
