General Description

2-Chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzenediazonium naphthalene-1,5-disulphonate is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C10H4ClF3N4O6S2. It is a diazonium salt formed from the diazotization of 2-Chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)aniline with sodium nitrite in the presence of acid. The resulting diazonium compound is then coupled with naphthalene-1,5-disulphonic acid to form a 1:1 salt. 2-Chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzenediazonium naphthalene-1,5-disulphonate (1:1) is often used in organic synthesis as a diazo component in the preparation of azo dyes and other organic compounds.
