The spectroscopic and structural study of mercury (II) tribenzylphosphine complexes were discussed by using single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The mercury coordination in [Hf(Pbz3)2]6+ complex. The mercury coordination in [Hf(PR3] can be described as distorted tetrahedral, with a significant of the P-Hg-P angle from linearity as a result of coordination of the nitrate groups. The Hg and P NMR shielding tensors of PMe3 models of the tribezylphosphine complexes were calculated using relativistic density functional theory.
