The title compounds (III) have been synthesized from the corresponding 5--4-methyl-2-substituted-aminothiazoles (II) by condensation with o-aminothiophenol (I) in refluxing ethanol containing a few drops of piperidine, followed by cyclisation in the presence of acetic acid.Some of the compounds show antifungal and antibacterial activities.
