85637-73-6 Usage

Description

Atrial Natriuretic Factor (ANF), also known as Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP), is a hormone secreted by the atria of the heart in response to the stretching of the atrial walls due to increased blood volume. It plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure, fluid balance, and electrolyte levels in the body.
Used in Medical Research:
Atrial Natriuretic Factor is used as a research tool for studying the physiological and pathophysiological processes related to blood pressure regulation, fluid balance, and electrolyte homeostasis.
Used in Diagnostic Procedures:
Atrial Natriuretic Peptide EIA Kit is used as a diagnostic tool for measuring ANP levels in patients with diabetes mellitus, which can help in understanding the underlying mechanisms of blood pressure regulation and fluid balance in these patients.
Used in Pharmaceutical Development:
Atrial Natriuretic Factor may be used as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of hypertension, heart failure, and other cardiovascular diseases, as it has been shown to have vasodilatory, diuretic, and natriuretic effects.
Used in Drug Delivery Systems:
Atrial Natriuretic Factor may be incorporated into drug delivery systems to enhance its therapeutic efficacy and bioavailability, as well as to minimize potential side effects.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is a polypeptide hormone released in response to atrial dilation and it stimulates diuresis, natriuresis and vasorelaxation. ANP acts as an inhibitor of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) pathway. It also has a major role in body fluid homeostasis and maintenance of blood pressure. Binding of ANP to receptors on target cell stimulate the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (GMP). Overexpression of ANP leads to congestive heart failure in the human. Experimental studies show that ANP can be used as a therapeutic for stimulating angiogenesis in ischemic tissues. N-terminal ANP prohormone functions as a biomarker for asymptomatic systolic left ventricular (LV) dysfunction, congestive heart failure and cardiovascular mortality.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 85637-73-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,5,6,3 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 85637-73:
(7*8)+(6*5)+(5*6)+(4*3)+(3*7)+(2*7)+(1*3)=166
166 % 10 = 6
So 85637-73-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
