Triphenylarsonium bis(methoxycarbonyl)methylide is a complex organic compound with the chemical formula C23H21AsO4. It is a derivative of triphenylarsonium, which is an organoarsenic compound, and features a central arsenic atom bonded to three phenyl groups. The molecule is characterized by a unique structure where the arsenic is also connected to a carbon atom that is double-bonded to two methoxycarbonyl groups (-CO2CH3). This carbon atom, known as a ylid, is part of a larger class of compounds that can act as strong nucleophiles in chemical reactions. Triphenylarsonium bis(methoxycarbonyl)methylide is of interest in organic chemistry due to its potential applications in the synthesis of various organic compounds and its unique reactivity profile.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 86001-89-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,6,0,0 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 86001-89:
(7*8)+(6*6)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*1)+(2*8)+(1*9)=120
120 % 10 = 0
So 86001-89-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A Gentle Method for the Preparation of a Variety of Ylides (As, Sb, Bi, S, Te, Thiouronium) from Diazo Compounds

Glidewell, Christopher,Lloyd, Douglas,Metcalfe, Shirley

, p. 319 - 321 (2007/10/02)

Bis(hexafluoroacetylacetonato)copper(II) is a very effective catalyst for the preparation of ylides from diazo compounds under mild conditions even down to room temperature. It appears that the lower the temperature at which the reaction can be conducted the purer the product which results. Its use in preparing arsonium, stibonium, bismuthonium, sulphonium, telluronium, and thiouronium ylides is described.

THE EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT COPPER (AND SOME OTHER) CATALYSTS ON THE CONVERSION OF TRIPHENYL- AND TETRAPHENYL-DIAZOCYCLOPENTADIENES AND OF SOME PHENYLIODONIUM αα'-DICARBONYLYLIDES INTO ARSONIUM AND OTHER YLIDES

Hood, J. Nicholas C.,Lloyd, Douglas,MacDonald, William A.,Shepherd, T. Maurice

, p. 3355 - 3358 (2007/10/02)

Diazo-compounds or iodonium ylides may be converted into arsonium and other ylides when heated in solution with triphenylarsine or other suitable carbene (or carbenoid) acceptor, and with a suitable Cu derivative present. The effects of using different copper complexes and salts are described and discussed.Other metal derivatives were for the most part ineffetive as catalysts.
