A novel enzymatic synthesis of quinoline derivatives

A new mild enzymatic methodology for synthesizing quinoline derivatives by Friedlaender condensation was developed. A series of quinoline derivatives were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C-NMR, IR and MS. The probable enzymatic mechanism was proposed. It provides a novel method to prepare quinoline derivatives.
