The reaction of LAuIn (L=P(C6H5)3, P(2-MeC6H4)3 or P(4-MeC6H4)3; In=indolyl group) with the solvated complexes ClO4 gives the novel heterometallic complexes ClO4.The mononuclear arene derivatives (diolefin)Rh(

Cationic η6-arene rhodium(III) complexes of the general formula (ClO4)2 (R = C6H5, 2-MeC6H4, 4-MeC6H4) have been synthesised from the acetone-containing complex (ClO4)2 by reaction with Au(In)PR3.The structure of the complex (ClO4)2 * CH2Cl2 has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods; it crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2 in a unit cell of dimensions a 13.289(9), b 16.388(11), c 10.794(6) Angstroem, α 72.35(5), β 109.19(6), γ 106.32(6) deg.The structure was solvedfrom diffractometer data by Patterson and Fourier methods and refined by full-matrix least squares to R = 0.072 for 3314 independent observed reflections. In the cation the Rh atom is η5-coordinated by a pentamethylcyclopentadienyl ligand and η6-coordinated by the hexaatomic ring of an indolyl ligand, which is also ?-bonded, through the N atom, to a Au atom of a AuPPh3 group.
