Synthesis of 4-C8H8)(CO)2L> iNC, ButNC, PhNC, 2,6-Me2C6H3NC, or P(OMe)3> and Proof of the Applicability of the Woodward-Hoffmann Rules to the Fluxionality of 4-C8H8)(CO)2(CNPri)>

, p. 693 - 698 (2007/10/02)
The compounds 4-C8H8)(CO)2L> iNC, ButNC, PhNC, 2,6-Me2C6H3NC, or P(OMe)3> have been synthesised and their 1H, 13C, and 31P n.m.r. spectra reported.A detailed study of the fluxionality of 4-C8H8)(CO)2(CNPri)> has been performed using the DANTE pulse sequence. The mechanism of fluxionality is shown to be consistent with the Woodward-Hoffmann rules and other mechanism are rejected.
A Proof of the Validity of the Application of Woodward-Hoffmann Rules to the Fluxionality of Fe(η4-C8H8)(CO)2(CNPri)
Hails, Michael J.,Mann, Brian E.,Spencer, Catriona M.
, p. 120 - 122 (2007/10/02)
Magnetisation transfer measurements have been applied to the 13C n.m.r. spectrum of Fe(η4-C8H8)(CO)2(CNPri) to demonstrate specific transfer, completely consistent with the Woodward-Hoffmann mechanism, but inconsistent with the least motion mechanism.
