Uses
Used in Agricultural Industry:
3-[2-(2,4-DICHLOROPHENOXY)PHENYL]ACRYLIC ACID is used as a herbicide for controlling unwanted plant growth. It is effective in targeting specific weeds without causing harm to the desired crop, making it a valuable tool in crop protection and management.
However, it is important to note that 3-[2-(2,4-DICHLOROPHENOXY)PHENYL]ACRYLIC ACID has harmful effects on aquatic organisms. Therefore, it is crucial to use this herbicide with caution and implement proper safety measures to minimize environmental damage and protect aquatic ecosystems.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 86308-90-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,6,3,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 86308-90:
(7*8)+(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*9)+(1*0)=149
149 % 10 = 9
So 86308-90-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Substituted (2-Phenoxyphenyl)acetic Acids with Antiinflammatory Activity. 1
Atkinson, David C.,Godfrey, Keith E.,Meek, Bernard,Saville, John F.,Stillings, Michael R.
, p. 1353 - 1360 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis and antiinflammatory activity of a series of substituted (2-phenoxyphenyl)acetic acids are described.Initial screening in the adjuvant arthritis test showed that halogen substitution in the phenoxy ring enhanced activity considerably.Ulcerogenic potential, as measured by the minimum ulcerogenic dose (MUD), was low in almost all the acids tested. acetic acid possessed the most favorable combination of potency with low toxicity, including ulcerogenicity, and this compound is now in therapeutic use.
