86329-79-5 Usage
Description
Cefodizirne sodium is a parenteral, long-acting, broad-spectrum cephalosporin useful in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is efficacious against pathogens resistant to
penicillins and older cephalosporins. An indication under study is its reported
immunostimulatory activity.
Originator
Hoechst AG (Germany)
Uses
Cefodizime Sodium (cas# 86329-79-5) is a compound useful in organic synthesis.
Brand name
Neucef; Kenicef
Hazard
Low toxicity by ingestion.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Cefodizime is a third generation cephalosporin with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. Cefodizime was demonstrated to be effective against upper and lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and gonorrhea. Cefodizime regulates the cytokines expression of neutrophils through toll-like receptor 4 (TLR-4) stimulated by Klebsiella pneumonie.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 86329-79-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,6,3,2 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 86329-79:
(7*8)+(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*2)+(3*9)+(2*7)+(1*9)=165
165 % 10 = 5
So 86329-79-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
