Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 86525-75-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,6,5,2 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 86525-75:
(7*8)+(6*6)+(5*5)+(4*2)+(3*5)+(2*7)+(1*5)=159
159 % 10 = 9
So 86525-75-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and β-adrenoceptor blocking activity of thiophenic analogues of toliprolol and bevantolol and closely related compounds
Conde,Corral,Lissavetzky,et al.
, p. 151 - 154 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis of a series of 3-alkylamino-1-thienyloxy-2-propanols starting from isopropylideneglycerol and the corresponding bromothiophene is described. In a preliminary pharmacological study compound 14 is very similar to Propranolol, while compound 13, a thiophenic isoster of Toliprolol seems to be less active. On the other hand compound 15, and isoster of cardioselective Bevantolol appears to be also a cardioselective β-blocking agent.
