An efficient microwave-assisted solvent-free synthesis of 3-alkyl-6-aryl[1,2,4]triazolo[3,4-b)][1,3,4]thiadiazine derivatives is reported. Twelve derivatives have been synthesised in excellent yields in short reaction times.

7H-3-n-Pentyl-s-triazolothiadiazin-6(5H)-one (III), 5H-3-substituted-s-triazolothiadiazinoquinoxalines (IV) and 7H-3,6-disubstituted-s-triazolothiadiazines (V) have been synthesized by the reaction of the appropriate 4-amino-5-mercapto-3-substituted-s-triazoles (IIa-d) with chloroacetic acid, 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline and α-halogenoketones, respectively.
