A C3-symmetric covalently linked (fused) molecule, HAT-IPN, comprising a 13 fused ring system was synthesized by a condensation-cyclisation reaction between hexaazatriphenylenehexacarboxylic acid trisanhydride and 4,5-diamino-1,2-dioctyloxybenzene.
