1H NMR and X-ray structural studies show that borohydride addition to dicarbonylnitrosylcyclohexadienylmanganese cations to give cyclohexadiene complexes occurs in a stereospecific endo fashion. This is the first example of stereospecific endo hydride addition to a coordinated cyclic π-hydrocarbon.
