Carbamodithioates, mainly 2-thioxo-tetrahydro-4H-1,3-thiazine-4-ones 1, were converted to carbamothioates, mainly 5,6-dihydro-2H-1,3-thiazin-2,4(3H)-diones 2, by nitrous and nitric acid. With conc. nitric acid additional nitration of phenyl substituents was achieved.
