Stereoselective synthesis of the octahydroisobenzofuran skeleton of the eunicellins

A de novo asymmetric synthesis of the octahydroisobenzofuran skeleton contained within the eunicellin family of natural products has been completed. The key transformations involve the convergent assembly of a tetrasubstituted tetrahydrofuran by condensat
