We describe the successful synthesis of four novel donor-acceptor (D-A) type copolymers, referred to as PQxBT, PQxFBT, TQxBT, and TQxFBT. The effects of using a fluorinated bithiophene (FBT) and varying the side-chain moieties tethered to the quinoxaline (Qx) unit (electron-withdrawing group in the polymer backbone) on the physical properties and photovoltaic performance were investigated. Specifically, the four polymers were synthesized using either alkoxyphenyl (P) or alkylthiophene (T) units anchored to the quinoxaline in the polymer backbone. The FBT-bearing polymers, PQxFBT and TQxFBT, displayed more redshifted absorption spectra and higher crystallinity owing to the greater planarity of their polymer backbone as compared to the non-fluorinated polymers. The TQxFBT copolymer, equipped with both the alkylthiophene side chains and FBT, exhibited face-on orientation in film state and a well-mixed nanophase morphology in TQxFBT:PC71BM blend films. The photovoltaic device fabricated from TQxFBT:PC71BM exhibited the highest power conversion efficiency of 4.18%.
A dye-sensitized cell, [...][...] structure containing dyes and its preparation method

Paragraph 0160; 0161; 0162, (2017/08/25)
The invention provides an organic dye containing a nitrogen-cyclized acenaphthene and perylene structure for dye-sensitized batteries and a preparation method thereof. The organic dye is provided with formula I structure. According to the organic dye containing the formula I structure provided by the invention, a novel electron donor is established by adopting a nitrogen-cyclized acenaphthene and perylene unit as the core, and different receptor units and modified groups are introduced to regulate the relative energy levels and three-dimensional stereostructures of dye molecules. The organic dye is adopted as a sensitizer of dye-sensitized solar batteries to prepare a dye layer, and the prepared and obtained dye-sensitized solar batteries are relatively high in power conversion efficiency; experimental results indicate that: the power conversion efficiency of the dye-sensitized solar batteries prepared from the organic dye provided by the invention can reach 9.8%. The formula I refers to the description.
Model compounds for biodegradation studies on hydrocarbon-type dielectric fluids

The hydrocarbons 7-methylpentadecane (1, n = 0) and 7-methyl-9-n-hexyl heptadecane (1, n = 1) have been synthesized. These compounds are suitable as model compounds for biodegradation studies on mixtures of oligomers of 1-octene and related compounds which have been proposed as dielectric fluids for the replacement of PCB's.The synthesis confirms the feasibility of isotope labelling for such biodegradation studies.
