The title compounds were synthesized by the reaction of the proper para-substituted phenyldiazomethanes and dimethyl 2-bromo-2-methylpropylidene-malonates. p-Cyano- and p-nitrophenyldiazomethane did not give 1-pyrazolines, but decomposed at the reaction conditions.Upon thermolysis in various solvents only cyclopropanes were obtained.Only small solvent effects were observed.The kinetic data gave good linear correlation with ?+-data, with a reaction constant, ρ=-1.00.
