The reaction of the new D-galactal-derived allylic aziridine 1β with O-nucleophiles (alcohols and monosaccharides) affords, in a high to complete β-stereoselectivity, the corresponding 2,3-unsaturated-β-O-glycosides bearing a β-N-functionality at C(4).
