88034-27-9 Usage
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Research:
Lantadene C is used as a cytotoxic agent for its potential applications in pharmaceutical research, particularly in the development of drugs targeting cancer cells. Its ability to inhibit the enzyme 3-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase may offer insights into the development of novel therapeutics for specific conditions.
Used in Toxicological Studies:
Lantadene C is used as a subject of toxicological studies to better understand its effects on biological systems, including its impact on adrenal steroidogenesis and the mechanisms behind its toxicity. This research can contribute to the development of antidotes or treatments for lantadene C poisoning.
Used in Veterinary Medicine:
In veterinary medicine, lantadene C is used as a reference toxic compound for the development of diagnostic tools and treatments for livestock poisoning cases resulting from the ingestion of Lantana plants.
Used in Environmental Management:
Lantadene C is used in environmental management studies to assess the risks associated with the presence of Lantana plants in various ecosystems and to develop strategies for their control, given the potential hazards posed by lantadene C to wildlife and human health.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 88034-27-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,8,0,3 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 88034-27:
(7*8)+(6*8)+(5*0)+(4*3)+(3*4)+(2*2)+(1*7)=139
139 % 10 = 9
So 88034-27-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

22β--3-oxoolean-12-en-28-oic Acid, a New Constituent of Lantana camara

, p. 1895 - 1902 (2007/10/02)
22β--3-oxoolean-12-en-28-oic acid, a new constituent of Lantana camara L. is closely related to lantadene A and lantadene B.Although hydrolysis gives 2-methylbutanoic acid as a partial racemate, it has been shown by n.m.r. spectroscopy that the natural ester is the optically pure (S)-isomer.Catalytic hydrogenation of lantadene A gives a mixture of diastereoisomeric esters in which the (S)-2-methylbutanoate predominates, and a 1:1 mixture of the (R)- and (S)-esters was obtained by esterification with (RS)-2-methylbutanoyl chloride of 22β-hydroxy- 3-oxoolean-12-en-28-oic acid protected as the diphenylmethyl ester.
