The interactions of arylmercury trifluoroacetates, RHgOCOCF3 with various N-, O- and P-donor bases have yielded new molecular adducts containing three- or four-coordinated mercury atom.The trifluoroacetate group is unidentate in all the adducts.The reaction of phenylmercury trifluoroacetate with tetraethyl and tetrabutyl ammonium halides has yielded ionic products of the type (+)(-).
