η-(1-isopropyl-3-phenyl-cyclopentadienyl)manganese tricarbonyl is a complex organic compound with the chemical formula C18H17MnO3. It is a derivative of the cyclopentadienyl ligand, featuring a manganese atom bonded to a tricarbonyl group (CO)3 and a substituted cyclopentadienyl ring. The cyclopentadienyl ring is modified with an isopropyl group at position 1 and a phenyl group at position 3, which influences the compound's electronic and steric properties. This organometallic compound is of interest in the field of homogeneous catalysis, particularly in the context of olefin polymerization and other industrial processes. Its unique structure allows it to act as a catalyst, facilitating chemical reactions with high efficiency and selectivity.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 88363-35-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,8,3,6 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 88363-35:
(7*8)+(6*8)+(5*3)+(4*6)+(3*3)+(2*3)+(1*5)=163
163 % 10 = 3
So 88363-35-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

PHOTOCHEMISCHE REAKTIONEN VON UEBERGANGSMETALL-ORGANYL-KOMPLEXEN MIT OLEFINEN. II. DIE UMSETZUNG VON PENTACARBONYL-PHENYL-MANGAN MIT 6,6-DIMETHYL- UND 6,6-DIPHENYLFULVEN

Kreiter, Cornelius G.,Lipps, Wolfgang

, p. 339 - 348 (1983)

C6H5Mn(CO)5 (I) reacts photochemically with 6,6-dimethyl- or 6,6-diphenylfulvene (II, III) to labile C6H5(CO)4Mn(η2-fulvene) complexes. These rearrange thermally by insertion of the two ring double bonds of the fulvenes into the Mn-C6H5 bond to 1,2- and 1,3-substituted (CO)4Mn(η-3-cyclopenten-5-yl) complexes (IV-VII) which were separated by HPLC.The formation of the 1,3-substituted isomers V and VII is accompanied by a 1,5-H shift.V and VII readily loose one CO at room temperature and further rearrange to 1,3-disubstituted (CO)3Mn(η-cyclopentadienyl) (VIII, IX).The latter are also formed by thermal reactions of I with II, or III, respectively. The structures of the isolated complexes IV-IX were elucidated by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectroscopy.
