-
Page/Page column 108, (2010/11/28)
The present invention relates generally to substituted benzofurans, benzothiophenes, and indoles and their use as tubulin polymerisation inhibitors.
Revision of structure of a new coumarin isolated from Artemisia carviforia wall
Harayama,Katsuno,Nishita,Fujii
, p. 1550 - 1552 (2007/10/02)
Four coumarins (1-4) were synthesized by routes shown in Charts 2-5, respectively. A proposed structure for a new coumarin isolated from Artemisia carviforia was incorrect, and the structure of coumarin should be represented by formula (3).
Rearrangement of Aryl-8-oxabicyclooctenones: Synthesis of Novel Biaryls and 1-Aryl-3-furylpropanones
Mann, John,Wilde, Philip D.,Finch, Mark W.
, p. 1543 - 1544 (2007/10/02)
The formation of 3-arylbenzaldehydes through rearrangement of 3-aryl-8-oxabicyclooct-2-en-7-ones is reported, together with various rearrangement reactions of 2-aryl-8-oxabicyclooct-6-en-3-ones, and a novel approach to the natural product acamelin.
A Simple Synthesis of the Natural Benzofuranoquinone, Acamelin
McKittrick, Brian A.,Stevenson, Robert
, p. 2423 - 2424 (2007/10/02)
Acamelin, an allergy-inducing benzofuranoquinone extractive of Australian blackwood has been synthesized from 3-methoxypyrocatechol in six steps. The key step involved formation of a 2-methylbenzofuran by the intramolecular Wittig reaction of an ortho-acet
