Reaction of 5-nitrosotropolone (10), p-tropoquinone (13), or 1,2-cycloheptanedione (16) with amidrazones 11 gives cyclohepta-1,2,4-triazin-7-one oximes 12, cyclohepta-1,2,4-triazin-7-ones 14, and 6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-cyclohepta-1,2,4-triazines 7, respectively.Reaction of the cyclohepta-1,2,4-triazin-7-one 14d with cyclopropene (4a) or 1-methylcyclopropene (4b) affords the compounds 21a, 21b, and 22 which are tautomers of the 1-azaheptalene system 2.
